The rich luster of antique mammoth ivory has been rightly brought forth in this beautiful yet detailed sculpture portrays three elephants of varying sizes.
In the background of the elephants are trees and natural foliage, while each leaf is clearly sculpted.
Look that that shine and luster on the elephant which is only possible with the best quality mammoth ivory. Notice the dark, broken edge of the tusk.
The dark pigmentation is due to centuries of being buried in mineral rich soil far below the permafrost.
Look at the criss-cross pattern on the elephant skin which is looks real while the delicately crafted eyes, feet, tusks and trunk have clear flow of line and patterns.
The master carver has carved within the solid ivory of the tusk while the rest of the tusk has been left in the natural state, as it was found.
The polish has brought out the rustic charm of the natural colors of the fossilized ivory tusk. The teakwood stand has been specifically crafted for elephant mammoth ivory sculpture.
The wooden stand has been crafted in the form of intertwining trees with delicate leaves that complement the ivory tusk sculpture. Signed by the master carver, it authenticates the art piece.
