This intricate and detailed set of mammoth ivory figurines of Three Lucky Gods is a classic example of expert workmanship. These short and rotund figurines are of God Fu, Lu and Shou. These hold a significant place in the Oriental pantheon of religious figures. Considered to bring good luck, happiness and success, apart from a long life, each of the Three Lucky Gods has been carved to perfection.  Look at the short figurine of Lu, signifying success and fame. Look at the complete figurine that has the Master Carver’s signature on the bottom. The complete robe has been hand painted with black and rust. Notice the tiny lines accentuating the motifs. The patterns of bamboo shoots, birds and clouds can be seen with ease.

The next one is Shou, symbolizing Longevity and is seen holding a large sized peach in his left hand. The flowing white beard and the expertly carved robe is a marvel. Look at the flowing robe, the frill around the collar and the designs all over the clothing.

The third Lucky God, Fu is creatively crafted and etched with details. He symbolizes happiness, and prosperity. Notice the elaborately sculpted figurine that has the Master Carver’s signature on the bottom. The spray of bamboo shoots, color coordinated Oriental motifs are a class apart. Look at the interesting motifs and hand painted designs expertly done with a fine paintbrush. Each figurine is intricately carved, showcasing the beauty and luster of mammoth ivory. Notice the rotund figure of the Lucky God, as all of them have the same short stature and round shape.  Set upon a classically carved teakwood base, the three figurines of the Lucky Gods can be lifted and moved around with ease.
