The happy Buddha is sitting in a contemplative mood, quite like in a meditative position. Notice the fold of the legs and the placement of hands. See the extremely detailed and miniature hand painting done on the garments. The artist has used a delicate medium of antique mammoth ivory and created a handcrafted masterpiece. The traditional geometric patterns amalgamate with the floral patterns to create a beautiful design. Look at the facial features, the big earlobes, bald head and the wrinkles on the forehead. The happy smile and twinkling eyes, bring about a look of happiness, peace and jest for life.
The inherent luster of milky white natural tusk ivory sourced from the ancient mammoths has been brought to the forefront by the fine polishing of the figurine. Notice the perfect sphere of the bald head, the double chin and the sagging neck, sculpted in solid ivory by the master artist. Seated upon a beautiful natural wood platform, the figurine is extensively carved and has hand painted patterns and motifs at the back. The teakwood platform is customized for this specific sculpture and has tiny inlay work done to accentuate the beauty of the mammoth ivory sculpture.
