Actually the Japanese old men aren’t playing the chess as we know it, they are playing the Traditional Chess Game that in Japan’s 17th century was named Go- Actually Go still being play till now days. Ant it is one of the oldest board games in human history, a game for two players that is noted for being rich in strategic complexity despite its simple rules.

The game is played by two players who alternately place black and white stones on the vacant intersections of a grid of 19?19 lines. Once placed on the board, stones cannot be moved elsewhere, unless they are surrounded and captured by the opponent’s stones. The object of the game is to control a larger portion of the board than the opponent.

The go Game invented before 2,500 years in China & spread all over East Asia – In Japan the game became popular at the Japanese imperial court in the 8th century, and among the general public by the 13th century. At the 17th century Schools of Go was opened all over the country.
