This is a beautiful sculpture portraying an element of nature, universally observed of frog on a large lotus leaf. Notice the tendrils of the lotus over the lotus leaf. Look at its detailed self-design and the way it weaves itself across the large leaf. It talks about the miniscule attention to detail by the artist. Notice the curl of the leaf at various points, which is very life-like and gives an awesome look to the sculpture. On the side is a half-opened lotus with a few buds and another frog hanging on the side. See how carefully the sculptor has crafted the frog as it balances on the tendril of a lotus bud. Look at the details on the lotus petals, as each one is individually carved and shows its unique position while the skin texture of the frogs has been carved to perfection. Carving such intricate details on a fragile medium of antique ivory is unique and showcases the exceptional skills of the artist. Another lotus stem is peeping over the corner while the complete sculpture is set on a customized, hand crafted and polished teakwood base. The custom base accentuates the beauty and allure of ivory while providing stability and elegance to the sculpture.
