Look at that huge sized teeth, the curling lip and the large sized head. Though the figurine is small sized, it has all of the details perfectly carved on the mammoth ivory tusk piece. See the Siberian tiger in action, with its paws drawing the claws. Each claw is clearly visible yet it is delicate. Notice how well the Master Carver has managed to sculpt the well-defined muscles, each ripped muscle, each claw and the structure of the legs and paws is well-etched into the beautiful and lustrous mammoth ivory.
Intricate details on Siberian Tiger
See the trees behind the Siberian tiger, each leaf and the rocks are well-accentuated, showcasing the natural surroundings of the tiger. See the ombre color of the brownish ivory due to the mammoth ivory tusk lying buried within the mineral rich permafrost. That is what has given the rich and lustrous ivory the shades of brown. Look at how evenly and accurately the artist has carved the tiny vegetation, close to the crevices in the rocks. Notice the hand-painted stripes on the Siberian tiger. The delicate etchings with brown have rendered the stripes on the tiger’s body. The healthy and huge sized Siberian tiger looks ferocious with its mouth wide open, showcasing a range of teeth, while even the tongue is clearly visible.
The complete sculpture of the tiger in mammoth ivory is set upon a classic hand crafted wooden base. The teakwood base has been carved by hand with the traditional Oriental designs. Notice the delicate lattice work and the fine finishing on the wood.
