Product Description
Look at this Meissen porcelain sculpture of a cute Cupid, sewing a broken heart. The tiny wings of the cherub have been hand painted light blue, while the golden hair look angelic. His hair is tied up in a knot over the top of his head, while the rest of the curls fall naturally. The skill and beauty encapsulated in this beautiful hand crafted and vintage figurine is a class apart. See the tiny details on the tree stump on which Cupid sits. Notice the gnarled wood, the pristine details that are so life-like. Each offshoot of the root and the knots in the tree stump is clearly visible. Imagine the cherub sitting within verdant forest and trying to mend the broken heart. There is a light yellow cloth that has been spread by the cherub before he sat down.
The Master Modeler has painstakingly hand crafted each intricate detail and then painted it in pastel hues. The wings are comparatively small yet no detail has been missed. Check the blue and brown shades of the feathers. The lithe figure and chubbiness of the cherub cannot be missed. Proportionate and symmetrical, the figurine has been modeled in detail. The hair strands are clearly noticeable as they have been highlighted by the expert use of paints. Look at the dexterity of the fingers, the curve of the neck and the elbow. Hand crafted in pristine details, the cupid looks life-like.
Don’t miss the tiny toes and chubby legs. Close to the feet are leaves that are etched into high quality Meissen porcelain. Colored a dull shade of green, they add to the significance of the natural scene. The thread-like metal wire that passes through the broken heart is expertly held by Cupid as he stitches it back together, offering hope and love to the mended heart.
